Announcing Our 2024 Podcast Pitch Award Judges
We are thrilled to announce our panel of judges for the 2024 Podcast Pitch Award in partnership with Sheffield DocFest.

Dan Clarke is Commissioning Editor, Factual, BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds. He commissions
narrative projects across all factual genres for Radio 4 and BBC Sounds, in series that combine world-class journalism with world-class audio storytelling. Recent commissions include The Coming Storm, Things Fell Apart, The Gatekeepers, Million Dollar Lover, Buried, The Banksy Story and Uncharted with Hannah Fry. Before going into commissioning he worked for BBC News as a producer and editor, most recently as Deputy Editor of Newsnight.
Michelle Martin is an Executive Producer at Wondery UK. After spending almost 20 years as an audio producer at the BBC, and then the podcast commissioning team at Audible, Michelle is now one of Wondery’s top leaders in the UK, overseeing global hits such as Ghost Story and The Price of Paradise.
Lisa Hack, Senior technical tutor in radio at Goldsmiths, University of London, is also one of the founders and a trustee for Multitrack; a charity that creates career changing opportunities for emerging producers from all backgrounds and seeks to create an audio industry that reflects the audiences it serves. As freelance audio producer she has also worked on projects for Spotify, Birdlime media and Audible.
Each member of our panel has been carefully selected for their expertise in the podcast maker’s journey: from navigating funding and the commissioning process to directing and overseeing production, to the crucial aspects of sales and distribution.
The 2024 Whickers Pitch will take place at Sheffield DocFest in June and our five finalists will be announced in mid-April.
