See the industry preview of ‘We Were Kings’ at Sheffield Doc/Fest
Ahead of its World Premiere later this year, the Whicker’s World Foundation’s first-ever funded documentary We Were Kings will enjoy a special industry-exclusive preview at Sheffield Doc/Fest this June.
The 2016 Funding Award winner Alex Bescoby will present a pre-premiere version his first feature length documentary, which, as described in the Doc/Fest programme, “portrays a unique rediscovery of Burma’s lost royal family. Deposed and exiled by Britain, they’re now emerging from the shadows in a country experiencing seismic change, and on an unusual quest to bring their family – past and present – back together.”
The preview will take place on Monday 12th June at 11:30am at the Light Screen 3, but will not be ticketed and is only open to Festival Pass Holders. The preview will be accompanied by an “in conversation”, details TBC. So for anyone interested in a sneak peak of We Were Kings before its official World Premiere, join us on Monday the 12th for a fascinating journey through Burmese history. More details of the screening are available on its event page in the Doc/Fest programme.
