Win two free passes to Open City Documentary Festival by taking our Cost of Docs Survey 2017
Do you want to make a difference in the documentary world and be in with a chance of bagging free passes to one of London’s best film festivals? Whicker’s World Foundation have teamed up with Open City Docs and the European Documentary Network to find out the true cost of making a documentary in today’s market.
Last year the results of our survey made it to a parliamentary enquiry on the effects of Brexit on the doc making community led by EDN and Sheffield Documentary Festival. This year we want to know even more. Who is funding documentaries? How much do they cost? And how are emerging technologies reshaping the industry during its so-called ‘Golden Age’? We want to hear from you.
The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete. Enter your email address at the end to be in with a chance of heading to this year’s Open City Doc Fest, the home of innovative and inspirational docs from across the globe. Last year we sent student filmmaker Jessi Gutch to Sheffield to view some of the year’s freshest doc talent, she said:
“I couldn’t believe it when I won the pass and it was quite fitting considering that my answers in the survey reflected my frustrations at being a young independent documentary filmmaker with no money trying to crack the industry! Having the full pass was wonderful and allowed me to attend extremely helpful events, see some inspiring films, and maybe most importantly network with people who I probably wouldn’t have otherwise met. So thank you Whickers World for the opportunity!”
